To the East of Ottawa, you will find Gloucester , now part of the City of Ottawa. Together with Vanier and Orleans it is probably the most bilingual area in Canada’s capital region and contains many communities.

Housing is varied, from custom designed homes to traditional architecture in long-established neighborhoods dating back to the 50`s and 60`s and has undergone much infill development and now provides new alternatives with townhouses, condominiums and all types, detached and attached homes. Gloucester offers plenty of recreation and sports. There are parks, outdoor rinks, indoor pools, arenas, soccer fields and plenty of ball diamonds and shopping, mostly along St. Laurent Blvd and Ogilvie Rd.

Almost half of old Gloucester’s physical area is occupied by the NCC’s Greenbelt, offering unique recreational opportunities (bogs, interpretation centres, etc), to such Gloucester’s communities as Beacon Hill, Blackburn Hamlet, Orleans, Carson Grove, etc.
